City Street and Sidewalk Projects Begin Ahead of Bicentennial Year

Barriere Construction has begun work on the 2012 Roadway Improvement & Overlay Program, and it’s moving along quite nicely! Projections are that we will see fresh asphalt by this weekend. Work for the first task order will begin in the 15th Avenue area, move towards Old Landing and finish in Downtown. A second task order will be issued for the remaining roads once work has started in the Downtown area.

For Columbia Street, Barriere Construction is planning nighttime patching before they begin the mill and overlay projects. Work will commence on this Wednesday, with anticipated completion by Thursday. If necessary, patching will also commence on Sunday November 4th. There will be lane closures on both nights – work will begin at 7 pm and end by 5 am. There will be blocked parking where patch work is being done, and they will also be digging up the old railroad rails.
