The Southern Hotel will celebrate their progress with a weekend of events, welcoming the public into their newly renovated hotel. The festivities will start May 30th with a ribbon cutting ceremony to welcome the Southern Hotel into the business community, and to commemorate the 107th anniversary of the hotel’s original opening on June 1st, 1907. Immediately following the ceremony, attendees will be treated to a sneak peak tour of the hotel. On Saturday May 31st the Southern Hotel will host an Anniversary Gala in their Camellia Ballroom. This party will be an example of the elegant evening events they will host – period costumes (black tie optional) are encouraged. An Anniversary Champagne Reception will be held On Sunday June 1st at the Southern Hotel Courtyard, featuring guided tours of the hotel, live jazz music and a short historical film.
