STAA Presents “Seersucker & Sazeracs” Fundraiser This Saturday

staa seersucker and sazeracsSt. Tammany Art Association will combine two classic icons of southern living – Seersucker and Sazeracs – in an evening of celebration of its members, old and new!

Guests are invited to don their finest seersucker and spring attire to mix and mingle at the historic Art House for lively music by the NOLA Jitterbugs and to enjoy hors d’oeuvres from Northshore restaurants, Seersucker Summer Pilsner from Abita Brewing Company and the highlight of the event, New Orleans’ official cocktail, the Sazerac. Noted culinary & cocktail historian and author (The French Quarter Drinking Companion) Elizabeth Pearce will share the rich and decadent history of the drink with her popular “Drink & Learn” presentations throughout the evening.

In the spirit of celebrating its members, the STAA will recognize and honor the continuous, focused support of longtime member and past president Catherine Deano. A dedicated advocate for the arts and community, Cathy has generously supported many cultural and arts-related efforts for years, amplified since 2009 with the founding of her successful Painting with a Twist franchises.

Any evening at the Art Association wouldn’t be complete without a bounty of art. Guests can enjoy the current exhibition Plank and Feather, with recent sculpture and print work by John Dalton Atkins and Zach Slough, plus, a special silent auction of work by some of St. Tammany’s premier resident artists, including Linda Trappey Dautreuil, Alan Flattmann, Rolland Golden, Mary Monk and Robert Warrens.

Tickets are $40 in advance and $45 at the door, which includes all food and drinks. Tickets may be purchased at the Art House or online at Event Brite or by going to, http://bit.ly/1GkSJ3f.
