2015 Summer Solstice This Sunday, June 21st – Summer is Officially Here!

Swim SafetyThis Sunday marks the arrival of summer. Plenty of sunshine, road trips and beaches, maybe camping and hiking too. Please keep in mind some safety tips for the summer activities, and mind the heat:

Safekids.org offers some helpful and necessary advice regarding water safety and children.  First and foremost, there is no substitute for active supervision.  When around open bodies of water, give children undivided attention; with toddlers and infants, an adult should be within arms reach to provide active supervision.  Educate your children on swim safety.  Remember that swimming aids and toys are not a replacement for approved personal flotation devices, and take the time to learn CPR.

***HEAT ADVISORY:  IT IS TOO HOT TO LEAVE CHILDREN OR PETS IN LOCKED CARS.***
