Second Saturday Art Walk This Weekend Features Local & Regional Artists at Various Galleries

Second Saturday Art StrollEvery second Saturday of the month, the St. Tammany Art Association invites the public out for the Second Saturday Art Walk. July’s event coincides with STAA’s Summer Show, celebrating its 50th year. Galleries downtown include Tripolo Gallery across from the Art House on Columbia, The Overby Gallery, right around the corner at 529 N. Florida, and The Rutland Street Gallery. Select retail will be open for the Second Saturday Art Walk, so take a stroll, see some art, and grab some food and drink.

St. Tammany Art Association’s 50th National Juried Artists Exhibition: The Summer Show

50summershowOpen to artists from all over the United States, the St. Tammany Art Association’s annual juried exhibition features only visual art completed within the past two years. This year, over $3,000 in cash awards including the coveted $1,000 Best of Show prize will be presented at the opening.

The Art Association is pleased to expand its sponsors’ circle this year, and welcome Cathy Deano and Walter Mader as our Show Sponsor. Award sponsors this year include Henry and Gail Hood whose Best of Show award is dedicated in memory of Miriam Barranger, Dorothy Severson, Trudy Williamson in memory of her husband, E.L. “Chick” Williamson, Mo’s Art Supply & Framing, Roberta D. Bruck, Ph.D and Maggie and Rich McConnell.
