An Introduction to the ELDOA Method

An Introduction to the ELDOA Method

What is ELDOA? ELDOA is a method of exercise that decoapts (creates space in) specific vertebral levels of the spine. Every intervertebral junction in your spine has a disc. The disc is like a spongy cushion that allows some compression. It is somewhat like a shock absorber that dissipates loads through the spine and body. The disc also protects the joint and nerve roots. Sometimes when we have too much compression we can slightly bulge or herniate a disc and compress the nerve. In these cases I have found that the ELDOA is the most effective for myself and for my clients. On MRI, most of us show some mild form of compression, bulging or degenerative signs. But how many of us have effective exercises in our exercise regiment to combat this?  The ELDOA was originally designed to correct scoliosis. Well, we all have a slight scoliosis! Everyone! We are always imbalanced and thanks to gravity, we are always compressing different segments in our backs and necks. ELDOA is the only method of exercise that I have found to work on flexibility, strengthening the spine and decompressing specific functional spinal units (vertebra, discs and nerve roots).
