How To Tell If Your Parish Is Run By Elitists

or, When It’s Time To Bring The Hammer Down

Less than 40 miles south of Covington, on the south shore of Lake Pontchartrain in Jefferson Parish, President Mike Yenni is learning that it is sometimes difficult to separate your private life from your public life. It does make it exceedingly difficult to uphold that separation when the public official in question is “sex-texting” a minor. After receiving a vote of “no confidence” from the Jefferson Parish Council (about the most extreme action the council can take regarding a vote on an official peer), it seems obvious that Yenni should cut his losses and call it quits.

What gives a public official the confidence and will to remain in office in the face of such scandal? Elitism. The Elite do not think that they should follow the same rules to which the public must adhere. In Yenni’s situation, the problem is not that the minor in question was male or female, even though the hurdle of homophobia is still being crossed by many. It’s more the idea that it is grossly incorrect to project a conservative, family-oriented image while chasing underage bed partners that could be the same age as your own children.

This is not an issue of sexual morality. It is about the disappearance of Honesty and Integrity, principles which are severely lacking in all levels of government. While it is more difficult to address on a national level, it can be addressed on local levels with participation of the public. Honesty and Integrity do not exist among the Elite, because they are not capable of being loyal, even to themselves. Opportunism rules the Elite.

There is no secret elitist conspiracy to conquer and enslave the World.

They’re actually pretty open about it.

The St. Tammany Parish Council is at odds with itself and other branches of local government because there is a gaping hole left by the election of a new District Attorney and a new Sheriff. There are maybe two or three council members who still have the audacity to display virtues of Honesty and Integrity, blatantly upholding the will of the people that elected them. As for the rest, their campaign war chests speak for their interests.

It is time that the Parish Council is held accountable for ignoring the will of the public. Private interests have taken control of the parish government, and it will take a concerted effort to get it back. How do you know if your Parish is run by Elitists? Examine the voting record of the St. Tammany Parish Council.
