STAA’s Seersuckers & Sazeracs

STAA’s Seersuckers & Sazeracs

On Saturday, May 20, the St. Tammany Art Association combines two classic icons of southern living in “Seersucker and Sazeracs” at the Southern Hotel.  Presented by Avanti Senior Living and The Sazerac Company, the event features New Orleans’ signature drink and America’s first cocktail, the sazerac, live music and catering by the area’s best restaurants.  Seersucker and Sazeracs benefits STAA’s education programs and exhibitions.  Visit sttammanyartassociation.org

Mix, mingle, and enjoy another southern icon, the beautifully restored, historic Southern Hotel at 428 E. Boston St. in charming downtown Covington, Louisiana. Fully restored to its 1907 glory, the Southern is a key figure in supporting public art in Covington. From dozens of original artworks by regional artists and rich murals depicting local Covington, to the award-winning Oxlot 9 Restaurant—not to mention sumptuous rooms and elegant spaces—the Southern is a natural fit as STAA’s partner in bringing you “Seersucker and Sazeracs”.
“Seersucker and Sazeracs” will be held May 20 from 7 to 10 p.m. Tickets are $75, which includes all food and drinks, available at www.Eventbrite.com. This event is expected to sell out.  The St. Tammany Art Association, a community- and member-supported arts organization located at 320 N. Columbia St. in Covington, presents the fundraising event in the height of spring, just before its summer art and theater camps for children.  Proceeds of the event will support such educational programming.
