The 2017 Three Rivers Art Festival happens downtown this Saturday and Sunday. With food booths and music stages among your favorite downtown businesses that also offer food and music, see hundreds of artists from across this great nation, as well as your local favorites! The Three Rivers Art Festival is conveniently located all on one street (Columbia), with ample parking in and around downtown.
This year, Covington Weekly would like to spotlight one of our favorite local artists, Katie Burckel, who won the City of Covington Award at 2015’s Three Rivers Art Festival. Katie’s focus is found objects and miniatures, and she has pursued her artistic expression for ten years now. Katie is a Covington native who graduated from Saint Scholastica Academy and Southeastern Louisiana University. Make sure you stop to tell her hello, because she is leaving for Austin soon to make some noise over in big Texas. Katie will be set up in booth #207 near the beginning of the festival by the St. Tammany Homestead Building.
