Fascinating insight into the world of art and exhibition curation will be among the topics presented in Reflections, a discussion led by Russell Lord and John Valentino. The event will be held Saturday, Dec. 2, 2017 from 4 to 6 p.m. at St. Tammany Art Association’s Art House. Admission is free.
Lord is the New Orleans Museum of Art’s Freeman Family Curator of Photographs, Prints and Drawings. Valentino is Southeastern Louisiana University’s Professor of New Media and Animation.
Together, they will offer an unconventional overview of the evolution of the photographic image with a focus on many of the works currently on display, Self/Reflection: Photographs from the New Orleans Museum of Art. Audiences also will enjoy a rare opportunity to view and handle Daguerrotypes, glass plate negatives and prints.
It’s also a final opportunity to view the Self/Reflection exhibition, which closes Dec. 3 at 5 pm.
St. Tammany Art Association is located at 320 N. Columbia Street in Covington. For more information about this and upcoming events and exhibitions, visit StTammanyArtAssociation.org.
