Covington Celtic Club Announces Grand Marshall

Covington Celtic Club is excited to announce its 2018 St.

Patrick’s Parade Grand Marshal, Dr. Jack Saux! Known mostly

in the community and surrounding areas as the “pirate

oncologist,” Dr. Saux is a larger than life Covington

staple that battles the difficulties of cancer in his

patients with costumes and a sunny demeanor. Most

famously, his pirate persona and the thousands of dollars

he raises each year at his pirate-themed birthday party for

the nonprofit, NAMI (National Alliance of Mental Health)

St. Tammany.

Stacy Gilmore, Director of Development & Communications at NAMI St. Tammany, states that
“As a non-profit, in an industry facing budget cuts year after year, we truly rely on the generosity of the community to help keep our doors open. Dr. Saux’s birthday party does just that and truly makes a huge impact on our fundraising and bottom line.”

“Dr. Saux’s presence in the parade definitely brings a whole new level of entertainment to the table and we can’t wait to see what he’ll wear!” –Cody Ludwig, CCC president and parade coordinator
