This Saturday brings Covington’s version of Linen Night to raise money for public art. Where what you like, but be ready for gallery openings, food, libations and live music everywhere you look. Below is a quick run-down of some of the happenings on Columbia Street:
Wharton’s Green Room presents Dem Guyz and Light Alibi, featuring craft cocktails and drink specials. Columbia Street Rock N Blues Cafe gets groovy with Groovy 7! Along with their other menu favorites, Rock N Blues now has pizza and pool tables in the back.
The St. Tammany Art Association joins the celebration of arts with the newest exhibition of members’ works in the Severson and Williamson galleries, and it will be the final opportunity to view the 53rd Annual Summer Show.
At 5 p.m., prior to the art event Saturday, STAA hosts a special Artist Talk with the event juror, Katie Pfohl, who will share insights as to her selection process. Some of the exhibition’s artists will also join the discussion to share their thoughts about their creative process. This is a free event. Visit sttammanyartassociation.org
Pepe’s Mexican Kitchen serves authentic and fresh Mexican food with a full Tequila Bar in a casual, family- friendly environment. This Saturday, August 18th, Pepe’s presents live music along with your food and drinks for the Covington Linen Night.
