Lentz Receives Plaque of Recognition, Promotions Announced

October 3rd marked the last day for Tim Lentz as Chief of Police of Covington, LA. Lentz received a plaque from the City of Covington in recognition of his dedication and
innovative leadership to the Covington Police Dept.
As Chief of Police, Tim Lentz contributed many positive influences to a department that was needing some positive PR, including proactive patrol methods such as community policing, involvement in youth outreach programs, progressive adult substance abuse programs like Operation Angel and many other contributions.
From a personal standpoint, Lentz was always available as Chief, and worked diligently to mediate situations large and small. Chief Lentz provided Covington Weekly with biographies of his employees in our segment, Meet the Covington Police Department.
This was a joint effort to introduce our local Officers to the community that they serve, and the series has extended to the above feature as well, Meet the Covington Fire Department. Tim Lentz recently announced his candidacy for Sheriff, along with the current Sheriff Randy Smith and former STPSO Nick Tranchina.  –  Ed.

Lt. Anthony started his career with the Covington Police Department in 2007. In 2015, Lt. Anthony was promoted to the rank of Sergeant, where he worked as a supervisor in the Criminal Investigations and Patrol Divisions. Now, Lt. Anthony will be shift supervisor over patrol shift three.
