The Friends of the Library of West St. Tammany monthly book sale takes place this Friday and Saturday, November 16th & 17th, from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. both days. This month features Christmas books for adults and kids, $5 sealed bargain boxes and a special surprise to see – new (to the Friends of the Library) bookshelves! The holidays are coming fast and if you want to do a little shopping for stocking stuffers, you’ll find books in excellent condition.
The Friends of the Library of West St. Tammany is an all volunteer, non-profit organization whose proceeds support the Library Branches of West St. Tammany. The group holds a monthly book sale on the 3rd Saturday and preceding Friday of each month from 9 a.m. To 5 p.m. The book sale takes place at Hadden Hall, located at 106 Jahncke Avenue.
The Covington Branch of the St. Tammany Parish Library is currently closed for renovations, but the temporary branch is open between Rouses and Papa John’s on Claiborne Hill.
The temporary branch offers everything you need during the renovations: computers, books and movies for all ages, genealogy and reference materials, magazines and newspapers.
The renovation of the 31-year old Covington Branch will include HVAC, roof and carpet replacement as well as bathroom expansion for ADA compliance, automatic door installation, new paint and a furniture refresh. The renovation is projected to finish late fall 2019.
