Ashley Campbell directs this year’s holiday show, Christmas in Camelot, at Playmakers’ Theater in Covington. King Arthur and Queen Guinevere’s Christmas festivities are interrupted when a stranger, the eager Gareth, arrives at court hoping to prove himself to the King. His opportunity arrives the following Christmas, when the Lady Lynette begs King Arthur to help her rescue her sister Lisette from the dastardly Red Knight. The show features many young local talents, some appearing for their first time on the stage.
Ashley is making her directorial debut at Playmakers. Most recently, she was on stage in this season’s opener, Wife After Death. A graduate of the South Carolina Governor’s School for the Arts and Humanities Honors Program, she has previously appeared in productions of Sylvia, Angel Street, Alexander and the Terrible, Horrible, No Good, Very Bad Day, Charlotte’s Web, and more.
Christmas in Camelot was written by Playmakers long-standing board member and community treasure Frank Levy.
Performances are December 14 & 15 at 7 pm, and Sunday December 16 at 2pm. All tickets are $10.
