Starting pay for an entry-level officer begins at $31,000 a year. After a year the officers will then receive an additionally $6,000 a year supplemental pay, which is provided by the State of Louisiana. Officers with Louisiana Peace Officer and Standards Training (P.O.S.T) Level 1 certification will be eligible for a higher starting rate of pay.
