Playmakers Theater announces Auditions for Laura, directed by Deborah Marcelle A noir mystery, Laura tells the story of a detective who falls for the strangely fascinating woman whose death he is investigating. He must solve the case by interrogating the men in her life, while sifting through each one’s contrasting perceptions of the woman they love.
Auditions on Monday & Tuesday, January 21 & 22, 2019, 6:30 p.m. Callbacks on Monday & Tuesday, January 28 & 29, 6:30 p.m. Rehearsals will start on Monday, February 4, 2019. Production dates are March 15 – 31, 2019, all roles are open.
Mark McPherson – 35-40, police detective, shrewd, good at his job
Waldo Lydecker – 45-55, vain, cynical, considers himself an intellectual superior to everyone else
Shelby Carpenter – 30-35, well-bred, social climber, womanizer
Danny Dorgan – 18-20, NY kid, rough manner that hides his sensitivity
Olsen – 40-50, plain clothes police man The Girl – 30-35, independent working woman, unlucky in love
Bessie – 45-55, NY Irish, plain-spoken, housekeeper Mrs. Dorgan – 40-50, Danny’s mother, air of long-endured suffering
