Tiffany Angel Nesbit Exhibition at Heritage Bank

Tiffany Angel Nesbit will exhibit new studio paintings at Heritage Bank of St. Tammany May 6 – June 3, 2019. Titled “Remnants of Past Obsessions,” the exhibition is derived from taking past ideas and physical pieces from previous bodies of work to merge them with current ideas. A closing reception will be held May 31, 2019 from 6 p.m. – 8:30 p.m., free and open to the public.
Nesbit explains, “I am tearing apart old drawings and paintings, keeping the parts that still interest me. Taking ideas of past projects, I am using the skills I have recently developed with various mediums, to create additional drawings and paintings. I then synchronize the old and new by collaging them where they make sense to each other: creating a connection between past and present.”

Nesbit is an active participant in the STAA Covington Art Market, which takes place this Saturday at the Covington Trailhead. While booking for the art market, Nesbit also contacted Michelle Crumhorn at Heritage Bank of St. Tammany, a strong supporter of local arts and music.
Artist Statement: The components that create industrial objects and organic structures are not as far apart from each other as one might think. I am interested in searching for the values of which are similar, and creating a visual formula to make a compromise between the industrial and the natural. My body of work is the outcome of creating a fantasied idea of making peace with nature and the industrial world we live in: warping processed inorganic goods into forms that appear raw.
