City Council to Discuss Increase Millage, Police Pay, St. Peter’s Gate at July 7th Meeting

The Covington City Council will have 2 meetings in July to discuss and vote on an increase in millage rates. Meeting dates are July 7th and 21st, 2020.

The July 7th meeting will also include discussion and vote on the St. Peter’s gate proposal and the introduction of an ordinance to increase police & fire department pay for additional education and training. View full meeting agenda here.

Due to an expected increased capacity, and in an effort to comply with social distancing, the July 7th meeting will be held at the Bogue Falaya Hall behind City Hall in the Greater Covington Center, 317 North Jefferson Avenue, at 6 pm.

City Council meetings are now also available to live stream on the City’s new YouTube channel here.

The July 21st meeting will be to vote on the millage increase. As of now this meeting is expected to be held at the usual City Council Chambers, 222 E. Kirkland St, at 5:30 pm. Monitor the City of Covington’s website, www.covla.com, for more updates.
