Enjoy fine art, boutique shopping, great food and good friends!  Join us this Saturday, September 13 from 6-9 pm for downtown Covington’s Second Saturday Art Stroll, celebrating our local artists in the St. John’s Cultural Arts District with tax-free shopping on all original works!  The St. Tammany Art Association (320 N. Columbia St.) features “Views from New Orleans: Selections from the New Orleans Museum of Art” with live music by Timothy Gates.   A few businesses and galleries open for the evening include the following:

History Antiques & Interiors (317 N. Columbia) will showcase Jim Graham and Sadler Ward, plus European antiques and home furnishings.   Tripolo Gallery (323 N. Columbia St.) is showing Paula Blackwell, Morgan Cameron, Robert Cook, Tracey Davis, Molly Duet, Donna Landry Duffy, Michael Eddy, Elizabeth M. Haskins, Steve Hasslock, Ken Tate, Craig McMillin and Michael Zavison.    Savoye Originals Gallery (405 N. Columbia) houses unique home furnishings & decor by Steve Savoye.  Across the street at 424 N. Columbia, you’ll find Motif, presenting original art, interiors and gifts. Around the corner on Lockwood, Henry Hood Gallery opens Sipiorski  & Siporski with “Vive la Difference.” (325 Lockwood St.)

Shop Soul Boutique (529 E. Boston) shows art by Rebecca Authement, Amber Damare, Heather Vallaire and Kenny Passuer;  jewelry by Sara Craig, Sophie Clesi, Eloise Early and Pam Moore.   The newly-renovated Southern Hotel (428 E. Boston) has the Divine Protectors of Endangered Pleasures (DIVA’s) exhibition of elaborately beaded, handmade Mardi Gras bustiers.   Three Rivers Gallery (333 E. Boston) presents “Chasing the Light: New Work by Mary Monk.”
