Covington Mayor Mike Cooper and his wife, Catherine, will serve as Honorary Chairs for the “Champions Together” Breakfast for Special Olympics Louisiana (SOLA), according to Pat Carpenter, President/CEO of SOLA. The breakfast, presented by the Olympian athletes, will be held at Benedict’s Plantation on Thursday, April 16, 2015, and local business and community leaders are invited to attend. The mission of Special Olympics Louisiana is to provide year round sports training and athletic competition in a variety of Olympic-type sports for children and adults with intellectual disabilities, giving them continuing opportunities to develop physical fitness, demonstrate courage, experience joy and participate in the sharing of gifts, skills and friendship with their families, other Special Olympic athletes and the community.

The “Champions Together” Breakfast will take place at Benedict’s Plantation at 1144 N. Causeway Blvd. In Mandeville on Thursday, April 16th, 2015 from 7 a.m. To 8:30 a.m. For those interested in attending, please contact Catherine Cooper at CatherineGCooper70433@gmail.com or call 985-893-0377, or Mary Louise Prudhomme, email at mlprudhomme1@gmail.com or phone 225-505-7093.
