Hoops For Kids Groundbreaking Ceremony – Raising the Roof

Hoops for Kids groundbreakingThe City of Covington will host a ground-breaking ceremony to launch construction of a roof over two municipal basketball courts at Reverend Peter Atkins Park, 701 N. Tyler Street. The public is invited to attend the 3:30 p.m. event on Thursday, April 2nd. As part of the ceremony, Mayor Mike Cooper will acknowledge and thank volunteers and donors whose efforts have made this project possible. These include Chevron and the New Orleans Pelicans, as well as the Hoops For Kids Committee, a group of some 20 volunteers that initiated planning and fundraising for the project, led by State Representative John Schroder.
