The Louisiana Workers’ Compensation Corporation named the City of Covington one of the “Safest 70” in the State. The City of Covington accepted the LWCC Safest 70 Award from Louisiana Workers Comp last week. This award acknowledges excellence, outstanding performance and commitment to workplace safety. Policyholders are recognized based on the effectiveness of their safety efforts in preventing injuries and controlling costs. The LWCC is a private, nonprofit mutual insurance company and the largest workers’ compensation carrier in the state.

Covington Chief of Police Tim Lentz had this to add, via the Covington Police Department’s social media page: “I am proud to work for the City of Covington and more importantly work with some of the finest people I have ever had the opportunity to work with in my professional career. It really doesn’t surprise me that we were recognized as a great place to work. It truly is.”
