St. Tammany Humane Society Gets Their Ducks In A Row – Race on the Bogue Falaya Saturday

sthsduckbannerOn Saturday July 18th, 5000 Rubber Derby Ducks will be released into the wild as they race down the Bogue Falaya River within Covington’s Bogue Falaya Park during the St. Tammany Duck Derby.

Adopt your rubber duck for just $5, which supports the St. Tammany Humane Society, and if your adopted duck crosses the finish line first, YOU WILL WIN $1,000! (Winner does not have to be present).

In addition to the top prize, runner up prizes include: Charbroil BBQ Pit with $50 grocery card, $100 in grocery gift cards, $100 restaurant gift cards, Coffee for a year at the The Scotts’ Coffee & Tapas Bar, and more!

Leading up the race at noon, there will be festivities for the entire family starting at 10 am including: adoptable animals, face painting, live music by Christian Serpas & Ghost Town, Duck Pluck, balloons, Decorate a Duck station, and more. Entry into the park is free on the day of the event.

Delicious food options will be available on site from Mellow Mushroom, iShop New Orleans / Binders Bakery, Nonna Randazzo’s, Zea’s Rotisserie, Zulu’s Voodoo Dogs, Sweet Daddy’s BBQ, and Sugar Shack Snowballs. 20% of all food sales from the day will be donated back to the Humane Society.
