City of Covington Announces Sparks FROM the Park July 3rd – ‘test launch’ Monday

In lieu of the traditional Sparks in the Park 4th of July celebration the city has announced an alternative ‘Sparks FROM the Park’ – A fireworks show from the Bogue Falaya Park!

The park will be closed to the public, but the show will go on! Mayor Mark announces in his e-newsletter that a ‘test launch’ is scheduled for this Monday, June 29th. The pyrotechnics will be tested Monday night in front of the park, with half a dozen rounds being fired off between 8:30 – 9 pm. It’s a good chance for us to scout out viewing locations too – the idea being that the fireworks can be viewed from various places around downtown and old Landing.

Then if all goes according to plan, the Big Show will be Friday, July 3rd! The Lake Radio 94.7 will be broadcasting in conjunction with the show. It’s a social distancing good time!
