Stroll through the STAA Art Market this Saturday on Lee Lane from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. You’ll find a variety of hand-made arts including pottery, jewelry, metal sculpture, stained glass, mixed media, hand-made garments, wood carvings, photography, and more. The Art Markets provides entrepreneurial opportunities to local artists while fostering creative community relationships by allowing artists to sell directly to the public. The St. Tammany Art Association was founded in 1958 by a small group of civic-minded individuals dedicated to bringing art to St. Tammany Parish. Today the Art Association is an organization with over 700 members that have served as a catalyst for the arts. The organization has grown into a new building in downtown Covington to further serve the needs of emerging and established artists, and to provide arts education and exhibitions to the community.
