Covington Antiques and Uniques Festival to Host “Ask an
Appraiser” Curious about an unusual vase that belonged to
your great-grandmother? Ever wonder how much your old
baseball cards are worth? Local residents and visitor are
invited to bring their curiosities, treasures and
collectibles to downtown Covington to discover what they
are and how much they could be worth at “Ask an Appraiser,”
Sunday, April 22, at 2 pm at the Covington Trailhead on New
Hampshire Street.
The event will offer amateur collectors a casual forum
where they can present their treasures to a team of
professional appraisers. Each item will be matched to an
appraser, who will give a verbal description and estimated
value for the item, and answer any questions the collector
may have. The event is headed up by licensed auctioneer
and certified appraiser Pennie Carr. Areas of specialty
among the panel of appraisers include military items,
furniture, silver, collectibles, dolls, toys, children’s
items, fine jewelry and more.
Tickets are $5 each or $10 for up to 3 items. Fine jewelry
is limited to one piece per person. Proceeds benefit the
Covington Heritage Foundation, whose mission is to preserve
the City’s culture, character and community.
“Ask an Appraiser” is one of many attractions featured at
the Covington Antiques and Uniques Festival, scheduled on
April 21st and 22nd on New Hampshire and Theard Streets in
downtown Covington. In its 4th year, the mainstay of the
event will be more than 70 booths containing an array of
antiques and vintage furnishings and collectibles, and
vintage fine arts and crafts.
The festival will also feature the Oxen Attic consignment
booth, as well as indoor booths in the Trailhead Museum,
containing more fragile items such as glassware and
textiles. Rounding out the festival event will be a
mouthwatering selection of food and beverages, as well as
