The Disposable Heroes Project of Hammond, LA has established July 27th as PTSD Awareness Day to honor Army Staff Sergeant Joe Biel, who suffered from PTSD and took his own life. Post Traumatic Stress Disorder is a serious illness that affects those who experience trauma as well as the family and loved ones around them.

If there is someone you think may be suffering from this mental illness, please reach out to them and let them know that someone cares and is there to help.
The mission of the DHP is to support our Heroes in their return to civilian life. If you would like to help those affected by this illness, please consider donating to the Disposable Heroes Project of Hammond, LA. Your efforts are greatly appreciated.
