Downtown Covington Block Party This Friday Night

May’s Block Party is this Friday evening with cars, food, music, shopping and more.  Take a walk down Columbia Street and see the sights.  Stop in to your favorite spot for dinner and drinks, then enjoy some live entertainment.   It’s Rock It Productions at Columbia Street Rock N Blues Cafe with DJ’s, VJ’s and the Bass Wagon.  The Green Room hosts local favorites Amedee “A5” Frederick and Beware of Bear for the Block Party + 11th Anniversary Weekend!

Summer Classes at Our Place Personal Fitness & Bodywork Studio

Jumpin’ into Summer Children’s Event This Saturday at Covington Trailhead

The City of Covington’s “Jumpin Into Summer at the Covington Trailhead” children’s event takes place this Saturday from 10 a.m. to Noon.  It’s free family fun with summer activities, face painting and a demonstration on bees and beekeeping by Kjun Apiaries.

Marsolan’s Hosts Last Old Feed Store Music Series Concert of the Season

The final Old Feed Store Music Series concert for this season is this Saturday, May 21 , from 1 to 3 p.m.    The Sweet Olive String Band performs this week.  Marsolan’s Feed & Seed is located at 316 E. Gibson Street.  Open to the public, free admission!

Second Saturday Art Walk This Weekend

The Second Saturday Art Walk is a great excuse to get out and enjoy everything Historic Downtown Covington has to offer.  Ox Lot Square Townhomes is hosting an open house May 14 and 15 (see back flyer).  Visit your favorite gallery and see who’s showing, new additions downtown include Armbruster, Rolland Golden, Saladino and Rutland Street Gallery.  The St. Tammany Art Association is showing “Expressions of Place”, and Tripolo Gallery is a Columbia Street mainstay. Stop in any of the great restaurants downtown for a quick bite to eat, or a nice leisurely meal.
Enjoy fine dining at Del Porto Ristorante, Ox Lot 9,  Mac’s on Boston and Toad Hollow Cafe, or for a more casual atmosphere, Vazquez Poboys, Buster’s Place or Columbia Street Rock N Blues Cafe.  Get some coffee, dessert or a sandwich at St. John’s Coffeehouse.  Downtown is about to welcome a new bar & grill in the old Wino’s & Tacos location, Hook’d Up will occupy 321 N. Columbia Street.
Nightlife in downtown includes The Tap Room and Seiler Bar with food, drinks and live music, Columbia Street Rock N Blues, also with late night food and DJ Hollywood this Saturday.  The Green Room, now a non-smoking venue, presents The Mockingbirds Saturday, with late night food.

Rockin’ the Rails at the Covington Trailhead & Live Music at the Covington Brewhouse

Down Dogs & Drafts at the Covington Brewhouse
