Covington Concert Band Inaugural Concert, Outdoor Concert

The Covington Concert Band’s inaugural performance is Thursday, April 15, 2021 at 7:30 p.m. in the First Baptist Church of Covington. This is a free concert featuring safe seating. Dr. Marc Pittman will emcee “A Night at the Movies” with Erik Morales as musical director and featuring Dr. Juliia Akers on violin.

On Saturday, April 17, 2021, the Covington Concert Band will perform “A Night at the Movies” outdoors at Reverend Peter Atkins Park, located at 701 North Tyler Street. The performance will take place at 3 p.m., concertgoers are encouraged to bring your own lawn chairs. Featuring Musical Director Erik Morales with Emcee and “voice of the band” Dr. Marcus Pittman. Next Wednesday we will be Chillin’ at the River again, this time for a St. Paddy’s concert featuring Four Unplugged! The City of Covington invites you to this free concert at the Bogue Falaya Park on Wednesday, March 17th from 5:30 – 8 pm. Bring your lawn chairs and picnics, and don’t forget to wear green!

These concerts are put on to provide safe, family friendly entertainment with social distancing in mind. Enjoy the scenic sprawling landscape of our beautiful park while listening to local live music. Masks are required, sanitation and social distancing circles will be available.

Four Unplugged is a popular local 6 piece band covering a wide variety of New Orleans seasoned music. Come join in the holiday spirit with candlelight caroling at the Covington Trailhead on Wednesday, December 9th, 2020. Featuring Benny Grunch and the Bunch performing our favorite festive tunes, this event is free and open to the public.

The Covington Trailhead is located at 419 N. New Hampshire Street in downtown Covington. The public is encouraged to bring lawn chairs for seating at the open-air pavilion, and a picnic, too, as food and drinks will not be available for purchase due to Covid-19 restrictions. Likewise, masking and social distancing is expected, and hand sanitizing stations will be available.

Sunset at the Landing – Free Outdoor Concert This Friday

Sunset at the Landing is a free outdoor concert held every third Friday of the month March through October, brought to you by the City of Covington, the Covington Farmer’s Market and Heritage Bank of St. Tammany. This month features Sweet Olive and Sweet Crude.

All are invited to bring lawn chairs, blankets and picnics, or to explore the many fantastic restaurants downtown Covington has to offer. Starts at 6pm at the Columbia Street Landing (at the end of Columbia St. on the Bogue Falaya River).
