In celebration of the Bicentennial year, the City of Covington is bringing back the old siren! This siren is located at the old water tower, and once sounded twice a day to alert workers of the lunch hour. It also served as a fire alarm siren for the volunteer fire department, and as an air raid drill siren during World War II.
Keynote speakers for the dedication ceremony includes Mayor Mike Cooper, Covington City Councilman Sam O’Keefe, Covington Fire Chief Richard Badon, former City Councilwoman Pat Clanton, and former Fire Department employee Earl Revere.
