A Taste of Covington 2020 – Fine Dining Throughout October

The line-up has been posted for upcoming A Taste of Covington events including Vintner Dinners at local restaurants throughout the month of October. This is the 9th annual food, wine, music & art extravaganza hosted by A Taste of Covington, the Covington Business Association and several local sponsors.

STAA Covington Art Market & Fall for Art 2020 Announced

The Covington Art Market returns to Lee Lane this Saturday October 3rd from 10 am – 2 pm. Stroll through and find a variety of hand-made arts including pottery, jewelry, metal sculpture, stained glass, mixed media, hand-made garments, wood carvings, photography, and more. Her piano playing and singing style ranges from an emotional whisper to a full-blown juke joint holler. 4 Day Event Showcases Covington April 9th – 12th 2015

A Taste of Covington 2015The Covington Business Association’s 4th Annual A Taste of Covington features a 4 day wine and food event exploring Covington, Louisiana! Thursday April 9th begins the festivities with the Vintners’ Dinners, a four course meal at ten top local restaurants with expert wine pairings. Friday is the very popular Grand Tasting in the wine warehouse at Acquistapace’s Covington Supermarket (now with two tents!) Saturday afternoon is the prestigious Festa del Vino wine tasting at the Southern Hotel, ATOC’s 2015 Top Presenting Sponsor. This year’s Festa del Vino is presented by Mayor Mike Cooper. Saturday evening the St. Tammany Art Association will host their annual Spring for Art from 6 – 9 pm. On Sunday, round it all out with a Champagne Jazz Brunch at Ox Lot 9 with music by Steppin’ Up. All events with the exception of Spring for Art must be reserved in advance – tickets are on sale at www.atasteofcovington.com.

Covington Business Resource Workshop To Focus On Workforce Development, Retention and Our Future

businessresourceworkshop8-14The City of Covington and the Covington City Council Economic Development Committee will host the forth installment of their award-winning Covington Business Resource Workshop series on Friday, August 15, 2014, from 8:30 a.m. to noon (8:00 a.m. registration) in the Bogue Falaya Hall of the Greater Covington Center, 317 N. Jefferson Avenue. The purpose of the workshop is to give local business owners the tools and expertise they need to help their business thrive, and to give potential business owners the resources they need to begin a successful new enterprise.  This workshop, entitled Workforce Development, Retention, and the Future, will focus on the vision by our leadership from the national, state, and parish level on our future development for the workforce that all business owners need to be successful.   Guest speakers at the workshop include:

A Taste Of Covington Four Day Food & Wine Event Celebrates Local This Weekend

Save The Date A Taste Of Covington, 2014A Taste Of Covington is finally here! ATOC 2014 continues the tradition of the CBA’s four day food and wine event celebrating Covington.

Thursday, April 10th, 7 pm: Vintners Dinners  Be seduced with a 4-course dinner with wines paired specifically for each course. Participating restaurants are: Annadele’s Plantation, Dakota, The English Tea Room, Del Porto, Lola, Mac’s on Boston, and Pardos American Bistro. Gallagher’s Grill and Seiler Bar are sold out for this event.

Friday April 11th: A Grand Tasting at Aquistapace’s Covington Supermarket  sponsored by The French Mix.  This event is sold out!

Saturday April 12th, 2 – 4 pm: Festa del Vino  at the Historic Mackie House, presented by the Southern Hotel. !

Saturday April 12th, 6 – 9 pm: STAA’s Spring for Art  This year, the CBA has teamed up with the STAA for their annual Spring for Art! Stroll the streets of Historic Downtown Covington and enjoy the art, local businesses, music and wine. This is a free and open to the public event.

Sunday April 13th: Champagne Jazz Brunch  Hosted by Seiler Bar, there will be two seating for the brunch, featuring jazz, champagne, food and fun! Music by Steppin’ Up.

Rockin the Rails Free Concert Series Spring 2014Vince Vance & the Valiants - Rockin' the Rails October 2013Vince Vance & The Valiants are back for the first Rockin’ The Rails of 2014.  Every Thursday, the City of Covington hosts the free concert from 5 pm – 7:30 pm at the Covington Trailhead.  The Covington Business Association, Covington Brewhouse and other local businesses provide snacks and refreshments while raising money for local non-profits.  The concerts are a great time for the family and a good way to enjoy the Covington Trailhead during a very beautiful season of the year.
