Save The Date For “Men Who Cook 2016”

img_5859“I’m in it to win it!” is the statement made by many of the “celebrity” cooks and partner restaurants who are participating in this year’s Men Who Cook! event, a fundraiser for the Children’s Advocacy Center—Hope House.  The event is from 4-7pm on Sunday, Nov. 6, 2016 on the top level of the Justice Center Parking Garage.
This year, nineteen community leaders will achieve celebrity status as they partner with some of the best local restaurants to compete for the title of People’s Choice! Each team of cook and restaurant will prepare tastings of a favorite menu item for attendees. The attendees will choose the winning team by “tipping”.  Attendees can tip their favorite team multiple times or tip several teams! The team with the most tip tickets wins the event!

Adventure Quest to Benefit Hope House Saturday at the Covington Trailhead

covhopehouseadventurequest2015 (2)The Children’s Advocacy Center – Hope House presents the Hope House Adventure Quest Saturday afternoon, May 16, from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. There is a $5 registration fee per family. The Hope House Adventure Quest begins at the Covington Trailhead. Each family team will receive clues to find historical markers in downtown Covington. At each location, the adults will receive information about child abuse prevention and a clue to the next marker. Children will receive stamps for their “passports”. There will be a party with food and children’s activities at the last stop on the Quest. Join in this family adventure! Children’s Advocacy Center – Hope House is an independent, non-profit organization dedicated to ending the cycle of child abuse in our community.

500 Women for Hope House CovLuv Raffle Continues Through March

500 Women for Hope House RAFFLELiz Bragdon of Our Place Studio and Reina Solano of Shop Soul Boutique have joined forces to take part in the “500 Women for Hope House” campaign. The goal of the campaign is for 500 women from St. Tammany & Washington Parishes to raise $100 (or more) for the Children’s Advocacy Center – Hope House. Their idea to raise the money was to host a “CovLuv” raffle – powered by the community through donations from local businesses and artists. Over thirty items have been collected to raffle off, including prizes like a 1 month supply of kombucha from Kombucha Girl, a 60 minute customized massage from Soul’s Journey, a tangerine quartz necklace from Shoeffle’, the coveted $100 gift certificate to OxLot 9, and so much more! “Men Who Cook” To Benefit The Hope House

Men Who Cook 2013The 1st Annual Men Who Cook event will be this Saturday, October 5th, and will benefit the Children’s Advocacy Center – Hope House! Fifteen “celebrity cooks” partnered with local restaurants  to create tastings of their favorite recipes to compete for Best Recipe and Top Chef! The event includes live music, complimentary beer and festive drinks, a photo booth, mini-cookoff challenges and more. It will be held at the top level of the St. Tammany Parish Courthouse Parking Garage from 6 – 9 pm. Tickets are $60 a person and $100 for couples. For more information check www.menwhocookevent.org.
