Covington, LA – On Saturday, December 12th, Baldwin Motors Subaru of Covington hosted their annual Home for the Holidays Mega Adoption Event. This year was a huge success for homeless animals in our community. Over 30 dogs and cats from Northshore Humane Society and multiple agencies found their forever families and will now spend this holiday season in the warmth and comfort of a home!

The day’s festivities also included live music by Christian Serpas and Ghosttown Duo, delicious food, vendors and holiday family photos.

CPD Offers Free Ride Home Program for the Holidays

CPD Covington Police Department car vehicleThe Covington Police Department will be offering a ride-home program this holiday season. Patrons of our local businesses that do not have a safe and sober ride can call the Covington Police Department and have an officer bring them home.

“We want people to be able to come to Covington and have a good time, but we also want them to have a safe ride home. Our number one priority is to protect the innocent. If we can prevent someone from getting behind the wheel when they shouldn’t, we have achieved our goal.” Chief Lentz said.

This program is being offered free of charge to anyone needing a ride home, within a reasonable distance, from businesses inside the city limits during the holiday season. To get a ride home, please call the Covington Police Department at (985) 892-8500 and an officer will be sent to your location.
