“We nearly had a cat–astrophe yesterday when a volunteer heard a kitten meowing from under a vehicle in our food pick up line. Fortunately, the scared little kitty ran behind our air conditioning unit and was promptly rescued by two staff members. This little calico kitten, now named A.C., now has a new home with our Warehouse Distribution Coordinator, and we think it’s a purr-fect match!

“We are very proud of a volunteer accomplishing 1,000 volunteer hours with us! Yesterday we kicked off National Volunteer Week by honoring him with a plaque, a special certificate from the office of the Lt Governor, and a bottle of his favorite—Jack Daniels Single Barrel! Special thanks to Mayor Mark for presenting the award for us to Eddie Sawaya.” – Ginger Kunkle, Northshore Food Bank

This week’s pic “Winter Window Plants” was submitted by Cici Photography

Fun side note, the plant in the bottom of the frame (peperomia) was purchased from Violeta’s Floral & Plant Shop here in Covington. Indoor plants add so much to your home!
