MTP For St. Tammany Available For Viewing

The draft Metropolitan Transportation Plan (MTP) for the St. Tammany urbanized area is now available for review on the New Orleans Regional Planning Commission website, the St. Tammany Corp. website and also at covingtonweekly.com. The RPC will be accepting public comments on the plans through January 2, 2019. The plans will also be presented at a public meeting held December 19, 2018, from 6:00 PM to 7:30 PM at 10 Veterans Blvd., New Orleans, LA 70124.
These plans can also be accessed through the St. Tammany Corp. website under Public Notices. St. Tammany Corp. continues to provide information as it develops and promotes strengthening our communities’ infrastructure. Please share this information with your colleagues and neighbors; it is important that all people have an opportunity to be informed about which projects are slated for future transportation infrastructure funding in our area. The City of Covington has scheduled a Public Meeting / Workshop for Wednesday, August 10, 2016, at 5:30 P.M., in the City Council Chambers, located at 222 E. The Covington Tree Board will host a special meeting Wednesday, September 3rd from 4 – 5:30 pm at the City Council Conference Room, at the Council Chambers, 222 E. Kirkland Street. This meeting will be to discuss and/or take action on several topics, including issue(s) presented by a Mr. Mike Gilly, future meeting dates, the by-laws of the tree board, public notices of tree board meetings, public planting near St. Scholastica property, and resolutions of tree board dated August 2014. This meeting is open to the public and welcomes contributions from the public.
