The 54th Annual Louisiana Garden Club Federation’s Cleanest City Contest judging will be April 4th. The Covington Garden Club has compiled a “Beautification Checklist” for residents and business owners that would like to participate.
Beautification Checklist:
Remove litter from your yard or business property and sidewalk
Mow grass regularly
Wash, paint and repair the exterior of your home or business
Clean your windows
Display pretty flowers or plants
Weed, mulch and water planted areas
Be sure your trash is properly bagged and your garbage can secured
Be sure your yard is free of junk, debris, brush, equipment, appliances, indoor furniture and other personal property
Keep a trash bag in your vehicle and dispose of litter properly
Cover/secure loose materials in truck beds
Report litter violators to the proper authorities
