The Covington Heritage Foundation Board announces that Harold Covington will be at the Covington Trailhead Museum on Wednesday, September 3 at 11 a.m. Mr. Covington is conducting genealogical research within his family and is in the process of visiting the multiple towns of Covington that exist throughout the country. If anyone believes they can help him in his research please attend. Covington Louisiana historian Howard Nichols will be in attendance to have an open discussion with Mr. Covington. The museum will also be open and the movie on Covington will be available for viewing.
Covington is named after General Leonard Covington, a member of the House of Representatives and Lieutenant Colonel of the U.S. Light Dragoons, serving in the Baton Rouge and West Florida area in the early 1800’s.
