The City of Covington presents the sixth annual Egg Rollin’ at the Covington Trailhead, 419 N. New Hampshire Street, on Saturday, April 4th, from 10 a.m. to noon. The event will feature the ‘Zoo 2 You’ petting zoo with baby springtime animals just in time for Easter.
Children under the age of 12 should bring a decorated, personalized, hard-boiled egg for the ‘Egg Rollin’ activity. Prizes will be awarded for the “fastest” eggs in Covington.
The Kiwanis of Greater Covington will assist children with creating a personalized Easter surprise. “The City welcomes the opportunity to foster our children’s creativity with take-home souvenir art projects such as these. We appreciate the tremendous help of the Kiwanis volunteers and are fortunate to have the support of Champagne Beverage in sponsorship of our children’s events,” Aimee Faucheux, Cultural Arts & Events Mngr.
As an added treat for the parents, this children’s event will be held in conjunction with the STAA Covington Art Market. The St. Tammany Art Association, in partnership with the City of Covington, presents the Covington Art Market, a juried market of visual arts and crafts held six times per year on first Saturdays. The Art Market is held from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Covington Trailhead in historic downtown Covington and features a variety of work from local and regional artists, including jewelry, crafts, photography, paintings, woodworking, fiber art, live music and more. This event is free and open to the public. For more information, contact Aimee Faucheux at 985-892-1873 or [email protected].
