The American Heart Association, in partnership with Chevron and Textron Systems, will host their annual Northshore Heart Walk on Saturday, March 18, at Fontainebleau State Park in Mandeville. Registration is at 9 a.m., walk begins at 10 a.m.
Brisk walking for as little as 30 minutes a day has proven health benefits, such as providing increased energy and circulation, as well as reduced risk of heart disease. The Walk is designed to help participants understand this critical message, join with others and generate a renewed commitment to heart-healthy living through walking.
The non-competitive, three-mile walk also raises funds to support heart disease and stroke research and educational programs in the GNO area. The Northshore Heart Walk is free and open to the public. For more information, visit northshoreheartwalk.org or call 504.830.2300.
