In an effort to introduce our local police officers to the community and provide an opportunity for the CPD to highlight their outstanding officers, Covington Weekly profiles are provided by Chief Tim Lentz of the Covington Police Department.
I usually take this opportunity to introduce the community to a new police officer, but I would like to use a little personal privilege to say good bye to an officer. Today will mark the end of a prestigious career for my number two in Command, Doug Arrowood. After serving this department for 22 years, Doug has decided to retire and spend more time with his grandchildren and pursue his passion for woodworking. Check out Doug’s woodworking video here!
Doug started his career as a patrol officer, and worked his way up the ranks to hold a variety of different positions ranging from training officer, detective, SWAT Team, and for the last three years as the Deputy Chief of the Department. His calm English accent always has a way of deescalating a difficult situation.
On behalf of myself, the men and women of the Covington Police Department, and most importantly the Citizens of Covington, we applaud you on a successful career, and wish you nothing but the best in your retirement. You will always have a home here, and you will be greatly missed.
