The first NSFC meeting was a success, with an incredible turnout of individuals both excited and intrigued. Farmers, producers and consumers alike were all in attendance. Jodie Burke led a presentation that thoroughly broke down the steps in creating a co-op, followed by much discussion. It was determined that a feasibility study is needed in order to proceed with creating a business plan for the co-op. This study will include community projects to educate the public on the benefits of a Food Co-op and the necessity of fresh produce. The formation of a committee to oversee the study is underway. Any community members or organizations interested in participating in this project can contact the Northshore Food Co-op at (504) 220-5639 or through their Facebook page,
