Covington lost a beloved member of its community this weekend with the passing of David Barfield. An avid documenter of local events, David played an instrumental role as “go-to” volunteer for many local non-profits, such as the Covington Business Association and St. Tammany Art Association. A memorial service for David will be held this Sunday, 3 pm, at the St. Tammany Art Association.
David Barfield was the first person we pitched the idea of “Covington Weekly” to in 2011. He whole-heartedly supported us, and invited us to our first CBA meeting, where we got enough advertisers to be able to print our first issue. Our appreciation for David is endless, and he will be missed.
