Faith Bible Church hosts a grand opening and dedication for their recently completed “Faith Bible Rosenwald Education Center” on March 14th, 2 pm at the facility, 1148 N. Columbia Street in Covington. The building has been under construction for the past year, during which several individuals donated money and materials for the remodeling process. The modular buildings were donated by Warren Davies. The facility has been named for Mr. Julius Rosenwald, an American businessman and philanthropist who established the Rosenwald Fund, which donates millions in matching funds to support the education of African Americans in the rural South. Covington is one area which benefits from the fund.
The primary use for this facility includes after school mentoring, Sunday morning and Wednesday night faith based education for children, serving ages newborn to 12 years old. The program is affectionately referred to as the “Kid’s Cove”. Learn more: www.myfaithbible.org
The grand opening event will include several members of the last Covington Rosenwald graduating event. All local residents, city and parish officials are invited to attend and celebrate the dedication of “Faith Bible Rosenwald Education Center”!
