The City of Covington is pleased to announce that it has been nominated and selected as one of the “Top Work Places” in the New Orleans region. Nearly 800 businesses, professional offices, and service companies competed for the recognition and 40 were chosen. The City of Covington was the only government entity to receive this distinction.
NOLA.com and The Times-Picayune partnered with WorkplaceDynamics, an employee survey firm, to host the event and determine the region’s Top Workplaces. Anyone could nominate a company with at least 35 employees, and it could be public, private, a non-profit or governmental. WorkplaceDynamics surveyed employees in several areas significant to creating a favorable workplace including day-to-day job, working together toward a common cause, company engagement, leadership, pay and benefits. After surveys were completed, statistical tests were run and results tallied designating 40 top employers.
“I am delighted the City of Covington has been named a ‘Top Place to Work’ and honored to have been selected for the award, particularly as the judges were our employees! That says a lot,” Mayor Mike Cooper.
The Top Workplaces are determined based solely on employee feedback. The employee survey is conducted by Workplace Dynamics, LLP, a leading research firm on organizational health and employee engagement. WorkplaceDynamics conducts regional Top Workplaces programs with 45 major publishing partners across the United States.
