Center Of Performing Arts: “The Best Christmas Pageant Ever!” begins December 11, 2015 at 7 p.m. A couple struggling to put on a church Christmas pageant is faced with casting the Herdman kids–probably the most inventively awful kids in history. You won’t believe the mayhem – and the fun – when the Herdmans collide with the Christmas story head on!
This delightful comedy has become a holiday staple for groups across the United States and features plenty of great young actors, a few favorite Christmas Carols, and a lot of laughs! The performances will be December 11, 12, and 13. Tickets: centerofperformingarts.net
Playmakers’ Theater: “Let There Be Light”, written by Frank Levy and Bonny Bess Wood & directed by Anysia M. Genre. An original holiday tale, set in the fictitious mid-western town of Clarion at the turn of the millennium. The city’s leaders have for the first time granted local school children the task of planning the traditional holiday show. As they plan for the December event, the students decide to learn more about Hannukah and how Jews celebrate the season. They develop a goal of blending Christian and Jewish traditions into one big holiday event. Their quest for knowledge takes some amazing and awkward turns as eventually wisdom prevails with the great event taking place after all. Kids and adults of all ages perform together as they demonstrate lessons in tolerance, international culture, and conflict resolution. The story ends in song with all on stage and off joining in this message of understanding and hope for our time. The show runs for the general public on Fri., Dec. 11 & Sat., Dec. 12 at 8 P.M., and Sun., Dec. 13, at 2 P.M General Admission is $8. Located at 19106 Playmakers Rd., (off Lee Rd.)
