We work closely with other businesses and organizations like the St. Tammany Art Association. STAA is central to the St. John Cultural Arts District with compelling and thought-provoking shows, an excellent members’ gallery, classes, lectures and much more. Toad Hollow Cafe is the local best kept secret for some of the best sourced ingredients and hearty but light dishes, mostly organic. Speaking of well-sourced ingredients, congrats to Chefs Dave and Torre, and our friend, Chef Leslie at Del Porto Ristorante, for thirteen years downtown with a great new addition to a restaurant that has helped set a standard downtown. Just down the block, Vazquez Restaurant will serve a tasty po-boy or a hearty home- cooked meal, and there is always lively conversation. Shop Soul Boutique is a supporter of the arts featuring locally produced jewelry, painting, folk art, clothing, accessories and more. Roy Blaum is a member of the Louisiana Craftsmen’s Guild, his wood carvings on display at Roy’s Knife & Archery. Columbia Street Natural Foods is always fresh, light and healthy for lunch. Finally, one of downtown’s newest gems is the Covington Brewhouse Tasting Room with fresh brewed local adult beverages. Thanks for making Downtown great!
