City Councilman Larry Rolling (District D) announces the sixth Covington Business Resource Workshop will take place Wednesday, May 4, 2016 from 8:30 – Noon at the Greater Covington Center, Bogue Falaya Hall, 317 North Jefferson Avenue.
“Our sixth workshop explores Social Media and the importance for our Covington and Northshore businesses to keep up with what’s trending as a strategy to grow their business and be successful,” Covington City Councilman Larry Rolling, Council Economic Development Committee Chairman.
The workshop theme for 2016 is “Plugged In” – meaning to be informed, connected, involved, aware, in-tune and in touch – all essential to a successful business. The goal in presenting the Covington Business Resource Workshop is to provide a “hands on” environment for Covington and neighboring Northshore businesses, assisting them in being “Plugged In”. Goals for participants include an increase in knowledge and comfortable usage of the valuable available resource and tools the internet can provide to small business.
Topics featured in the workshop include Social Media Trending. Explore the newest changes in social media sites and how they can help your business. Learn how to maintain a healthy online reputation by using sites like Yelp, Google and Facebook to generate positive feedback. 52% of consumers report that positive customer reviews make them more likely to do business compared to 28% who prefer factors like location and price.
Take control of your online business presence. Manage your online reputation and incorporate e-mail marketing to grow your brand. Search Engine Optimization will be discussed regarding what businesses need to do to their website to remain competitive in the market. The Covington Business Resource Workshop is held annually to coincide with the U.S. Small Business Association’s “National Small Business Week”, May 1 – 7.
