In an effort to introduce our local police officers to the community and provide an opportunity for the CPD to highlight their outstanding officers, Covington Weekly profiles are provided by Chief Tim Lentz of the Covington Police Department.
This month the Covington Police Department is featuring one of their Communications Officers, Jane Duracher. As a Covington native, Jane has been employed with the Police Department for the last four years. If you happen to call the Police Department for an emergency on 911, or happen to call our non-emergency number, chances are you have spoken with Jane. She manages to juggle 911 emergency calls, general calls, and keeps track of where the officers are located at all times. The job can be a little hectic at times, but through her experience and training, Jane handles the position as a true professional.
Before coming to work at the Police Department, Jane worked for a local medical billing company. She has a bachelor’s degree in General Studies from Southeastern and a proud 2007 graduate of Covington High School. Her father was a 30 plus year law enforcement professional, retiring several years back from the Sheriff’s Office. During her off time, she enjoys traveling, shopping and spending time with her family.
