In an effort to introduce our local police officers to the community and provide an opportunity for the CPD to highlight their outstanding officers, Covington Weekly profiles are provided by Chief Tim Lentz of the Covington Police Department.
This month we would like to feature one of our most valuable employees at the Police Department. Ray Travis has worked for the Police Department for the last 12 years. A dedicated employee, Ray’s duties as the custodian for the Police Department, of three aging buildings makes his job challenging. Yet, he performs his duties without complaint, making our old facility and grounds look the best possible. For all of his hard work, in 2016 Ray Travis was awarded the Chief’s Award for the Police Department. This award is given to an employee that performs above and beyond, which Ray exemplifies every day. Ray is a native of Covington, and enjoys spending time with his wife and four grown children, along with taking care of his yard and his neighborhood. As much as I am not wild about it, Ray is an avid Dallas Cowboys fan. – Chief Tim Lentz
